Three ways to load it
Your site key replaces YOUR_SITE_KEY. The dashboard's Install page shows the code with your key filled in, and picks the way that suits your host.
| Way | Script | What visitors get |
|---|---|---|
| Recommended: your own /_tc/ route | <script src="https://cmp.trackable.digital/l/YOUR_SITE_KEY.js?so=1"></script> | Your site forwards /_tc/ to us, so the choice is stored on your own domain (Safari keeps it for its full lifetime) and the rules use the visitor's real country. |
| Same origin | <script src="/_tc/l/YOUR_SITE_KEY.js"></script> | The same, with the script itself also served from your domain. |
| Quick | <script src="https://cmp.trackable.digital/l/YOUR_SITE_KEY.js"></script> | Works anywhere with no routing. Safari keeps a visitor's choice for 7 days, so some are asked again. |
Never add async or defer: the banner must set Consent Mode before any tag runs. If your site sends a Content Security Policy, allow https://cmp.trackable.digital in script-src and connect-src.
After installing
- Remove any other cookie banner or consent plugin. Keep Google Tag Manager.
- Open the site in a private window: the banner shows. In the dashboard, press Check the site now, then Scan now on the Cookies page.
- Once the banner is on your homepage, your domain is verified by itself. See Domains and verification.
